Carmel’s paper A dynamical perspective to community detection in ecological networks is online. The paper demonstrates community detection in ecological networks using flow modules with Infomap. It also includes a newly developed R package, infomapecology. Congrats Carmel for your first paper! 🙂
Sharon joins the lab
Sharon is a 3rd year student at BGU and is starting a project on the epidemiology of COVID19 using modeling approaches. Welcome!!
Shai gave a workshop on Multilayer Networks in Spain
Shai was invited to give the first workshop on ecological multilayer network analysis. The workshop was given under the joint auspice of the Spanish Association for Terrestrial Ecology and the BC3 institute. About 20 people participated, even in high COVID-19 time!
Ma’ayan joins the lab
Ma’ayan is a 4th year student at BGU and is starting a project on the genetic mechanisms underlying the structure of host-virus networks. Welcome!!
Open positions at the lab
I am accepting applications at all levels (BSc to postdoc). If you don’t find what you are looking for or have an idea for another project contact me too!
Shai’s paper on Ecological Multilayer Network is in Nature’s Network Collection
The Nature journal has compiled a collection of influential papers on the theme of Networks. Our paper “The multilayer nature of ecological networks” is first in line 🙂
Shir joins the lab
Shir is a 3rd year student at BGU and will be doing a year-long project in the lab. Welcome! See people page.

Officially started at BGU!
Today I officially started my position at Ben Gurion University, Israel. The lab I will be leading will explore ecological complexity across systems and scales, with a focus on host-parasite interactions.
