The official language of ECONET 2023 is English.
Climate & Clothing
The weather in Be’er Sheva in September is hot. No rain. Temperatures range 28°C- 21°C (82°F – 70°F). Casual dress is appropriate for all occasions. We do not have a dress code for EcoNet, shorts and sandals are also fine. We suggest that you bring light clothing for the day and a jacket for the evening. Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hats, suntan lotion and swimsuits are recommended for tours and outdoors activities.
Entry Visa
Passport holders of EU countries, the USA and Canada, do not require entry visas to Israel. For participants from other countries we suggest you check the website of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the following links or check with your local Israeli embassy, consulate or travel agent.

A letter of invitation will be issued upon request. This invitation is prepared solely to assist with visa application or participation requirements, and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support or confirmation of inclusion in the Scientific Program. Electricity
The Israeli power supply is single phase 220 volts at 50 Hertz. Most power sockets in Israel have three-pin holes, but many of them will work with double-pin European plugs.
Currency / Exchange
The currency unit in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS), “Shekel” in short. International credit cards are accepted for payment in virtually all hotels, restaurants and shops. You can get along with just your credit card or Apple/Google pay. We recommend that you change a bit of money at the airport for immediate needs. Exchange offices and ATM machines are easily available throughout the city and at Ben-Gurion International Airport.
Tipping
When a restaurant bill does not include service, a 12% tip should be added. Taxi drivers are generally not tipped.
Liability and Insurance
The Workshop Secretariat and Organizers of ECONET 2023 cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants and accompanying persons. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
