Our lab studies the mechanism of DNA replication in eukaryotes focusing on how replication is coordinated with other fundamental processes such as transcription and DNA repair. We utilize genetics and fluorescent microscopy for studying DNA replication in yeast, as a model organism. Our lab develops a unique live-cell microscopy approach for the real-time monitoring of single replisome progression at a defined genomic location. Using this approach, we study replication through trinucleotide tandem repeats or G4s, transcription-replication conflicts and replication through damaged DNA.
